Welcome to Kisane's Swimming
I am a qualified Austswim accredited Teacher of over 20 years, I am here to help you take a step into the aquatic environment in a respectful, nurturing and enjoyable environment. Being comfortable in the water is not only a life safety skill, but one that will better your quality of life.
The Swimming Principles
Environment
Any first introduction to the water is about understanding the environment. The aim is to build confidence. Once you are comfortable in the water it lays the foundation for everything else.
Breath Control
Buoyancy is key in learning to swim. Learning to relax and letting the buoyancy take over allows you to coordinate arms and legs easier.
Propulsion
Now it is time to move through the water. Kicking leg and arm drills are great but the aim is to relax and glide effortlessly whilst still maintaining consistent steady breathing.
Fun
I consider fun and joy to be the most important part of my teachings, it allows learning to take place without pressure. The new skills you learn will enable you to feel confident and have fun in the water.
Ready to dive in?
If you got past childhood without learning how to swim, it’s very possible that you’re now stricken with fear and embarrassment at the prospect. That makes perfect sense. One of the biggest challenges for adults who are learning how to swim is breath control and keeping their face in the water of fear they are going to breathe in water. It can feel uncomfortable and can even cause mild anxiety for some. At first, being in the water may feel strange, unfamiliar, and even a little worrying. Still got questions?
